Wisconsin and Notre Dame won two of the most exciting games in the NCAA Tournament’s second round.
Wisconsin went 11-3 from that point to now, advancing to the Sweet 16 for the fifth time in the last six years. Now, the Badgers have their sights set on getting back to the Final Four for the third season in a row.
The Irish are seventh in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency, and the Badgers are 12th in defensive efficiency.
After an ugly just-find-a-way-to-win 47-43 first-round triumph vs. No. 10 Pitt, the Badgers resorted to theatrics to knock off No. 2 Xavier on a last-second shot by Bronson Koenig. Now, a winnable game vs. No. 6 Notre Dame looms.
Wisconsin has had two drastically different tournament games to get to this point. The Badgers’ 47-43 first-round win against Pittsburgh was a crime against basketball for how dreadfully boring it was, but their second-round, buzzer-beating triumph against Xavier was all kinds of fun.
